Dragonflies

there are often swarms of dragonflies at Devil’s Cataract, giving the already magical spectacle an even more special touch.

Botanist’s Dream

The rainforest is a botanist’s dream. Some of the shrubs and herbs found here occur nowhere else in the world. One such plant is the herb Rotala cataractae. Among the rarities here are the Cheilanthes farinose fern, the fronds of which are strikingly yellow underneath, and the black titan aroid (Amorphophallus abyssinicus) which has a distinctive dark purple hood, and flowers just before the rains. Please remember that this is a protected environment and no plants may be removed from the area.
