The course is beautifully integrated into the surrounding bush, and game roams freely on the course. Where else does a fourball have to give way to elephants and buffalo? Golfers are allowed a free drop from large animal dung – we asked! Across the river, the first game of golf took place in 1908 soon after Livingstone was established as the capital of what was then northwestern Rhodesia.
The beautiful Edwardian clubhouse of the Livingstone Royal Golf and Country Club was built at the time. The course has been recently renovated and the new 18-hole course is set in a lush, parkland environment. Booking of tee times is essential and caddies are available. |
